In FreeSans and FreeSans Bold, U+2D4D TIFINAGH LETTER YAL and U+2D4F TIFINAGH LETTER YAN have slanted forms following another U+2D4D or U+2D4F. They should not; Unicode’s table 19-1 does not tell the full story. This slanting is only used to avoid the ambiguity of multiple parallel vertical lines. In Neo-Tifinagh (the style FreeSans implements) the lines of the yal are connected, so there is no longer any ambiguity, so there are no slanted contextual forms. See section D. 9 of http://hapax.qc.ca/propo_tifinagh.pdf, which says “this does not apply to Neo-Tifinagh”.
