Better post your patch to nano-devel -- it will get more exposure there than here on Savannah.

No, but I prefer mine because I don't have to hit any keys beforehand to use it. I attached a patch (or should I create a new issue and discuss it somewhere else?) for you to look at it.

One more feature I would like to implement would be adjusting the titlebar so that focused tab would be always seen (currently if it's far on the right you can't see it).

I will also try to find a way to shorten this up a bit, because currently all the error checking is very verbose.

Hm. Interesting.

Have you seen Marco's different approach to the problem?

And by pull request I meant I will email you the git patch.

By "can't be displayed" I meant if it won't fit.

File tabs. I have trouble navigating between buffers in nano.

Let's say you have 7 files open: a.c, a.h, b.h, b.c, c.h, c.c, Makefile. You are currently working on b.h.

The title bar, if you #define ENABLE_FILETABS on compile, will look like this:

a.c a.h [b.h] c.h c.c Makefile

If you switch left, it's going to be:

a.c [a.h] b.h c.h c.c Makefile

If it can't be displayed, "..." will be seen at the very right.

New Buffers are treated as files named NewBuffer.

I will make a pull request, maybe you will like it.

Thanks for reporting back.

I'm curious, though. What kind of modification are you making to nano? What is it that you need that nano can't do? :)

I'm sorry, I most probably confused it with the bug I've caused myself. I thought I was working with vanilla g20aa167c but it may have been a modified version. I can't remember if the time it crashed I invoked it using "nano" or "./nano".

Sorry to bother you.

With what options did you configure the build? Please attach the entire output of your ./configure run. And you are building and running nano on an Ubuntu 17.10 Artful?

Can you reproduce this? If yes, with what file? And with what config?

This has never happened when I was using v2.8.6 that's currently in the Ubuntu repositories.
