I'm having the same issue with 4.2.1

Thanks for testing. I tend to push the patch to stable, since the effect should not depend on the octave version. Or didn't you face the issue before e0bcd17ac070 you mention in your original post?

That patch fixes the issue, thanks.

Alexander, could you please test the attached patch? I have added ampersands as shortcuts into the button texts. This should prevent KDE from adding extra ones.

It was the QString "result".

Alexander, thank you for the report.

Which string was exactly affected ba the additional ampersand?

Fri 17 Nov 2017 01:11:04 AM UTC, original submission:

On KDE, a build of the commit e0bcd17ac070 results in me not being able to use the path selection dialog popping up when first executing a script not in the path. Clicking any of the buttons has no effect.

It looks like this bug has the same cause as these:

https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?51905
https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?51853

I printed the string returned by the dialog in octave_qt_link::do_debug_cd_or_addpath_error() and it had an additional ampersand in the front.
