Everything is OK in upstream git version.
I also tested official openSUSE 4.6.1 version: everything is OK too.
Closed as WORKS_FOR_ME.

You're right. Without all patches it work as expected.
Thanks for help. I found bad patch and report about it to Fedora maintainer.

From what I can tell Fedora doesn't apply a lot of patches, but there still seems to be a few, can you try with screen build from official sources? (https://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/screen/)

Yes, screen contents are preserved on terminal.
Without ~/.screenrc the same thing.
And if in parent terminal cursor was not at bottom then screen contents preserved after cursor too.

It happen on konsole, gnome-terminal, xterm.

Also what is value of $TERM outside screen?
altscreen changes how applications in screen behave, ie if they can use altscreen or not

I have screen 4.6.1 from Fedora. After detaching from screen console not cleared even if altscreen on option present in ~/.screenrc.
Please help if it is regress.
