According to commit cbf4f77, once multiple buffers are open in nano, the buffer count display is supposed to remain even after only one buffer is open. However, opening the help browser is effectively opening another buffer (although in an atypical fashion, from the user's viewpoint). This means that running

./nano --ignore

pressing Ctrl-G, and then immediately pressing Ctrl-X to close the help browser makes the buffer count remain. Is this intentional behavior as well? If not, the attached patch against git fd86696 should fix it. (There's currently only a minimal changelog entry in the patch, just in case the behavior is intentional.)
