Should be fixed in git now:

As a workaround, edit the installed <libunistring/stdbool.h> file so that it does this:

#if defined _STDC_C99
#include <stdbool.h>
#else
... original contents of libunistring/stdbool.h ...
#endif

Reported by Dennis Clarke <dclarke@blastwave.org> in https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-gettext/2017-06/msg00022.html :
A compilation unit of a third-party package (po-lex.c of GNU gettext, in this case) fails to compile if it contains the following things, in this order:
1. #include <stdbool.h>
2. declare a function that returns 'bool'
3. #include <unistr.h>, which includes <unistring/stdbool.h> (which was generated from stdbool.mini.h)
4. define said function that returns 'bool'.

The problem is that in (2) bool expands to '_Bool', whereas in (4) it expands to 'signed char'.

The compiler, in this case, is Oracle Studio 12.4/12.5 on Solaris.
