No problem in current version.

I'm using Maxima 5.9.0. When I run it in text mode and type "noeval(('diff(y,x))^2);", it correctly outputs...

NOEVAL((--) )
dx

...while the Texmacs Maxima plugin shows...

NOEVAL(%DERIVATIVE²((y,x,1)))

...instead of the pretty print that you'd expect.

The results for "noeval(('diff(y,x)*2)" and "noeval(('diff(y,x,2)))", on the other hand, are formatted correctly.
