I believe that this bug has been fixed in the Unifont 10.0.01 release, just uploaded.

Thanks. I have incorporated your change into the upcoming Unifont 10.0.01 sources, in preparation for the imminent Unicode 10.0.0 release.

The Unicode Consortium has not yet announced when they will release Unicode 10.0.0. It was supposed to be released in June, but in the past they would have announced a release date by this point (given that it is now June). Their "Announcement" placeholder on web page http://unicode.org/versions/Unicode10.0.0/ points to a non-existent blog link in July, so it is possible that the release will be delayed until sometime in July. I'm sure they are extremely busy right now (possibly approving last-minute glyph changes), so I don't want to bug them asking for an update.

So for now, it is likely that Unifont 10.0.01 will be released in July, right after the formal Unicode 10.0.0 release.

It was intentional but wrong.

U+FE73 is the left half of the tail of the isolated/final forms of letters like U+0633 (i.e. the left quarter of the whole glyph). It was used with characters representing the right three quarters. The latter are not encoded in Unicode, so I changed U+FE73 to be the whole tail, to make it look right with the initial/medial glyphs.

Upon further consideration I think this was wrong: this is a compatibility character encoded for an edge case when converting code page 420 to Unicode and isn’t meant to work with the rest of Arabic Presentation Forms-B. The glyph should be:

FE73:00000000000000000000020404040300

David, did you intend your Arabic Presentation Forms-B glyph U+FE73 to loop the way it does? I am double checking because it is a little different from the way the glyph appears in the Unicode code page. Thanks.

Thank you for not only modifying the glyphs but converting them to hex format. I will get these into the next release. I am planning to wait until the Unicode 10.0.0 release expected in June. If there is some reason why it would be essential for you to have something before then let me know.

FE73:00000000000000000000112121221C00

That should look right when placed after U+FEB3, U+FEB7, U+FEBB, or U+FEBF.

David, thank you for pointing out this issue. Are you familiar enough with Arabic that you would be able to send corrected glyphs (this one and also changes for the previous bug report about Arabic that you posted)? You could for example download the PNG file at http://unifoundry.com/png/plane00/uni00FE.png, modify it, and email the file to me. I will be able to incorporate your corrections in the upcoming Unifont 10.0 release.

If you do not feel like you can do that, I will try to make adjustments based on your descriptions.

U+FE73 ARABIC TAIL FRAGMENT is meant to connect to the previous Arabic presentation form, e.g. ⟨ﺳﹳ⟩, but in Unifont it is too high and does not connect.
