The computation should be interrupted whenever fun is discovered to be complex, for instance in check_default_input.

This is a known problem:

sundials/IDA can only deal with float or double
and either of the two must be chosen when compiling
the library.

What to do for complex input is unclear to me at the moment.

gives a completely wrong result (which should be exp(1i*sol.x).
