Ok, I concede that it is convenient. "Feature, not a bug", I suppose. I hadn't really given this a lot of thought, and got stuck in the "0 means ok, 1 means argh" way of thinking.

Yeah, it's definitely not a bug, and indeed it's very useful behavior (I've already used it in at least one shell script).

Why is this a bug? It makes what-changed
similar to diff.

what-changed gets its exit status from 'arch_any_changes()'. This means what-changed exits with status 1 anytime there are changes, and with status 0 when there are not.
