The second problem has been fixed in git, ef7a7c53, as the result of a more general fix. But the first problem continues to be there. Not very serious, because a much shorter alternative would be to just type ^K, but... still, not nice.

To reproduce, run 'src/nano +2,32 README' and type:
M-A <End> M-R M-R .* <Enter> <Enter>

It says that '.*' is not found. But in 2.7.4 this worked fine. (It asks twice whether to replace this occurrence, and in both cases it is unclear what it is referring to, but in the end the expected stuff has been deleted.)

Worse, when you try the same replacement without having made a selection, nano gets stuck after the second Y. In 2.7.4 this worked -- it will ask twice per line, once for the full line and once for the empty line, but in the end line after line gets deleted. Current git never gets beyond the first end-of-line.

The offending commit is again c88d7ce5.
