The bug existed since nano-2.5.3. (Before that version, an M-6 would always leave the cursor at the end of the formerly-marked region -- which would mean a sudden jump of the cursor if the region was marked backwards.)

When a marked region is copied (with M-6) and the region was marked backwards, the preferred x position becomes that of the end of the region instead of that of the start of the region.

To reproduce, run 'nano +14,56 README' and type: M-A <Up> <Up> <Up> <Ctrl+Left> <Ctrl+Left> <Ctrl+Left>. The cursor now sits on the P of "Pine", and a three-line region from "Pine to "Yuck" is marked. Now type: M-6 <Down>. One would expect the cursor to go to the space below "Pine" but instead it goes to the space before "features".

Expected behavior: whenever M-6 is typed, the preferred x position of the cursor is set to the x of the cursor position when the M-6 action has been completed.
