Since nano-2.6.2, when specifying an invalid column number on the command line, a valid line number is ignored.

To reproduce, run 'src/nano --ignore +23,aa NEWS'. In current nano this will put you on the first line of the file, which is rather unexpected since there is no warning at all that there was something wrong. In nano-2.6.1 and before, the same command would put you at the start of line 23, which seems much better.

Expected behavior: put the cursor as close as possible to what the user intended.

(Strangely, an invalid line number is dutifully ignored and the the valid column number is acted upon.)
