The package php-gettext has a critical security vulnerability, open since 2016. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/php-gettext .

It is therefore better not to mention this package in the documentation.

The documentation section PHP should also mention the php-gettext package from https://launchpad.net/php-gettext. Some people appear to use it, see http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-gettext/2016-12/msg00030.html
