This sounds like you have NA or NaN in the data. The function max and min discard NA. The function mean cannot do so. As an example,

What does this check for NA values in t1 return?

Hi, i have array t1 size: 50711x1, double. max(t1) is 35, and min(t1) is 5.
When I try to compute mean(t1) i got NA result.
mean(t1(1:5000)) works.
