It seems to be working now. I do not know why...
Thank you very much for your help, and sorry for the noise.

Maybe someone else has some suggestions, but only one I have left is a fresh clone of mxe-octave and see if it also does it.

I do not think that it's a checksum problem.
If I change interval.mk to

it also fails.

Also check the checksum:

sha1sum pkg/interval-2.0.0.tar.gz

and verify it is same as expected in of-interval.mk

Does the same is mine.

It writes the output to stdout, and redirects it to the destination file name pkg/interval-2.0.0.tar.gz

so could be downloading it ok, but not saving to the file (permissions issues?, disk full?)

Try checkout a new copy of mxe-octave and see if it does the same thing ?

I do know how, but I see in the log

1114142 is the exact size of interval-2.0.0.tar.gz

(again, interval is just an example, it happens with other of- files).

can you verify it did save the file to pkg/of-interval-2.0.0.tar.gz, and that its checksum matches what is expected in of-interval.mk ?

Yes, it seems from the log that the script downloads the package,
but then it tries again in different place and fails.

No, I did not change anything in of-interval.mk, and I had
same problem with of-io.mk and of-instrument-control.

On mine at 32a7bea19bb1

It works ok. Perhaps source forge was down at the time, or you have changed something in of-interval.mk ?

While building MXE-Octave the process is trying to download
of files, bat it fails. For example:
