Thanks for catching this oversight in the documentation. I pushed a changeset for it here (http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/fda8d91b2e71). This will be a part of the 4.2 release which is expected in the next month.

Should it be
for completeness of the basic 8 colors:
rgb=[0,0,0] black
rgb=[1,0,0] red
rgb=[0,1,0] green
rgb=[0,0,1] blue
rgb=[1,1,0] yellow <-- missing now
rgb=[1,0,1] magenta
rgb=[0,1,1] cyan
rgb=[1,1,1] white
