I am running Ubuntu 16.04.1 on a Lenovo X120e laptop with AMD Fusion™ Processor E-350 and dual-core and 4GB memory. I installed Octave 4.0.2 via the Ubuntu ppa. I also installed octave-strings. The command window prompt seems to work on initial and reboot, but if I exit and restart Octave, there will be no text output to the Command Window screen. I had this problem with Octave 3.8 if I remember correctly. Command line interface runs smoothly as far as I can tell.
Thanks
Ash
