It was a regression from the last time I tried this, which was apparently years ago when the generated installation was much smaller.

I tried 'make zipdist' and I get

For anyone who later reads this, 'make zip-dist', does seem to work.

This is due to NSIS not being able to generate installers that (unzipped) are > 2 GB.

I do not know if this qualifies for "regression". AFAIK NSIS has never been able to generate an unstripped installer.

"make zipdist" is a way around. Even then you may end up with an archive of ~900 MB.
To get size down it helps to drop the OF packages from the Makefile, but in my most recent experience (> 9 months ago) still not enough to make an installer.
