These are pretty straightforward error messages. I suggest you ask for help on the mailing list.

Hi Mike,

The problem is that it keep asking me to addpath for each single .m file which do not happen before. I tried octave 4.0.2, but the bug is still there.

Do you know why it keep asking me to addpath?

The file /Users/jianqingchen/Documents/learning/Tech/Machine learning/machine-learning-ex3/ex3/ex3.m does not exist in the load path. To debug the function you are editing, you must either change to the directory /Users/jianqingchen/Documents/learning/Tech/Machine learning/machine-learning-ex3/ex3 or add that directory to the load path.

Thanks,

Thanks for attempting to help improve Octave by submitting a bug report. However, there is nothing actionable in this bug report because of missing information and no evidence of an actual bug within Octave.

The only error you have shown is that some external function is unable to add a non-existent directory to the path and that a function is not found. Neither of these are Octave bugs.

And I'm not sure what any of that has to do with fonts or character encodings.

Also version 3.8.0 is quite old, you might want to try installing the latest version 4.0.2 for your system.

If you need help learning how to use Octave or help understanding what an error message means, please try one of the support forums such as the mailing list or IRC (http://www.octave.org/support).

If you do identify a specific behavior that is a bug in Octave, please open a new bug report.

Hi, I use octave 3.8.0 for some machine learning project. One day, there are some version info pop out.

After that, all the font of .m file show in weird format. and does not work anymore.

And suddenly I need to add some path and the error log is showed as follows,

warning: addpath: ./lib: No such file or directory
error: 'submitWithConfiguration' undefined near line 30 column 3
error: called from:
error: /Users/jianqingchen/Documents/learning/Tech/Machine learning/machine-learning-ex3/ex3/submit.m at line 30, column 3
