This was fairly easy. I added the new capability here http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/30d4645ecb98. Fixed, closing report.

A follow-up from bug #44324 : while not explicitly documented with Matlab, it is possible to call close(...,'force') with the first argument being a figure handle, while Octave only accepts 'all':

Would it be ok to allow this particular syntax?
