Closing, as this bug was not released -- it was a result of commit 433c7e5, the not-partitioning the file.

To reproduce, run 'src/nano +12,10 README'. Then type: M-A <Up> <Up>. The cursor is now on the G of GPL. Then type ^T.

Notice that it asks to replace the second instance of "GPL", not the first. Type: x <Enter> Y. It never asks to replace the first occurrence.

Now it asks for a replacement for "Pico". Type <Enter> and the spell checking will be finished. Then hit ^T again. The spell checking finishes immediately -- it doesn't find any misspellings any more. Strange.

The first problem occurs because nano doesn't take one step back when the region is marked backwards, a step it does take when the region is marked forwards. So that fix is obvious. The second problem I don't understand, but is hopefully fixed by fixing the first.
