The offending commit was 38b74e6 -- seemingly completely unrelated.

Closing this, as the bug is not in any release.

To reproduce, run 'src/nano +1 NEWS', and type ^R README <Enter>. The file is read in and the cursor lands at the bottom of the screen, with just one line of NEWS still visible (not very nice; it used to center this line, but let's ignore that for now).

Now type M-U (or M-\) and read the file in again: ^R README <Enter>. It says it read in 72 lines, but the cursor does not move, the screen does not change, it seems as if it has read nothing at all. But all the text is there, if you scroll up.

Expected behavior: when a sizeable file is read in, nano should put the cursor on the center line.

Bug has been introduced after nano-2.5.3. But the leaving of the cursor on the bottom line after the first read is present since 2.4.1.
