Fixed in git, 7b3649a.

A more reliable way to reproduce this is to run 'src/nano NEWS', and type: ^W told you <Enter>. Then press and hold Alt+W.

On a VT (a Linux console) it only happens when running nano with --constantshow on a large file, but on a Gnome terminal I can get it even when scrolling in the README file.

To reproduce, run 'src/nano NEWS' and then press and hold Alt+= (or Alt+- if you're at the end of the file). Irregularly, but about twice per second, nano will beep and show "[ Unknown sequence ]" on the statusbar.

A long time ago there was a similar report (https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/nano-devel/2006-05/msg00006.html), but apparently things have morphed a bit since then. The bug is old -- it exists since at least nano-2.2.1.

(And I've already found the solution. Just needs a little more testing.)
