The reported bugs are in the 1.05.001 release but already fixed in cvs head.

The autogen problem is the same as #47727 and triggered by a recent update of glib2.

The 100% CPU usage was discussed in the bug-gnubg list and triggered by using FORTIFY_SOURCE (the default with gcc5 or later).

There were no significant changes at user level since 1.05.001 but these issues are starting to hit those building a gnubg package for recent linux distributions from the 1.05.001 sources.

We will make a 1.05.002 source archive to allow them to work from that instead of a random snapshot or 1.05.001 + backported patches.

Thanks it now compiles, but when trying to run gnubg now it consumes 100% of my CPU and I see no GUI load. The old version that I compiled about a year ago still works. Do you think this is related or should I open another bug?

I couldn't reproduce the problem (on freebsd and some other linux distributions than archlinux).

Could you check if the attached patch helps ?

On Arch Linux, I run ./autogen.sh and get the error:

m4/glib-gettext.m4:39: error: m4_copy: won't overwrite defined macro: glib_DEFUN

Full error log attached.
