Applying the patch for bug #47692 solves this issue, too.

Yes, they are related.

It also happens whenever an empty editor pane, either the initial one after gui start up or one created by the file new menu entry, is replaced by an actual file.

The only difference is that in-editor actions like paste or undo are doubled, but RUN is repeated exactly four times.
