Confirmed. I'm not sure that Octave's copyobj was ever designed with multiple handles in mind, although that seems completely reasonable from the documentation.

I expanded copyobj to work on scalar or vectors of handles in this cset (http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/1dda942a2514). It seems to work on your example code so I'm going to close the report.

Suppose foo.m contains

Execution produces the following error:

error: get: vector of handles must all have same type
error: called from
copyobj at line 52 column 10
foo.m at line 7 column 1
error: evaluating argument list element number 2

The code works in ML.
