Although I cannot reproduce this any more, I've applied the patch. So... fixed in git, 2439e1e4. If this creates problems with other linters, please report a new bug.

Partially fixed in SVN, r5669.

With attached patch, it is fully fixed for me when using 'gcc -fshow-column' as the linter. Apparently gcc counts a tab as asingle "column" -- when it says 800:25 it means the 25th character in line 800, not column 25 with tabs expanded to eight spaces. But possibly other linters work differently?

When linting, the cursor is not placed at the x position specified in the message on the statusbar. I think it should.

For example, when having 'extendsyntax c linter gcc -fshow-column' in one's .nanorc and then running nano on src/chars.c and typing ^T, it will ask, at some point, to open "src/proto.h". When you do so, it will show "src/proto.h:174:6: note: previous declaration of ‘nisblank’ was here" on the statusbar, but sometimes the cursor is at the start of the line, sometimes on the "n" of "nisblank", and I've also seen in somehere in the middle of "blank". It seems to depend on what you did before.
