I just posted in the maintainers ML about this.

It happens only when cross-building with mxe-octave

Recent changes (2/4/16) seem have caused a problem when compiling sighandlers.cc. Or maybe <string.h> failed to get included correctly; I certainly don't see it explicitly in either sighandlers.h or sighandlers.cc.
