CTRL-F5 plays from Cursor.
I have mapped Ctrl-F6 to stop it. Seems to work

Probably your operating system is intercepting these key presses and using them for things like mute audio.
Use different key short cuts to work around those that your O/S is intercepting - just press the keypress while hovering over the menu item. E.G. you could hover over Play and press Alt+F5

An alternative would be to tell windows not to steal these key presses, but to use others - I believe there are programs that do this on windows. Search for re-map keyboard.

Please come back to this bug if you have trouble or if you find a resolution.

Using today's download in Windows 10
Playback menu suggests that F5 should start playback. It doesn't, but Ctrl-F5 does start playback at cursor

Same menu says F6 should stop playback. It mutes the sound but the display indicates continuing playing with cursor movement, and a second press of F6 takes of mute at the latest cursor position
