Known and very difficult to fix limitation - you can't currently start a position with a cube being offered, it has to have a move record in which there was a double by the other player. Take/drop records always expect to be paired with a double record (in fact, the analysis of a take/drop is actually done by using the result of the analysis of the double decision). Changing gnubg to deal with this requires restructuring the way game records are built and is very much a non-trivial undertaking. You can set up such a position for analysis by putting the other player on roll (and set that player to human rather than gnubg), set up the chequer position and match scores, etc. Then make the initial move for the other player a double. Now you can analyse that double (or play a take/drop and analyse that).
