Yes, it's kind of poor. It is nice and good in many aspects, but is not comparable.

TERM_PROGRAM=Apple_Terminal
TERM=xterm-256color

There is no 'xterm' unless I start the X11.app, aka XQuartz. I only use that for Links in graphic mode and Inkscape opens in X11 as well.

There is a tab/pane in preferences about keys and their values, but I don't want to fiddle with them. I've added a couple of xtras for my window groups, but those were set in Sysprefs->keyboard instead.

But, no worries. It isn't (really) a problem here and I'm also switching soon. Going from OS X + Linux on the side, to the opposite. ^^

Thanks for those bind settings. They were great.

…and thanks for the help and info.

/Eric

(Marking the bug itself as already fixed.)

Thanks for the traces. Your terminal emulator, however, is very poor: it produces the same keycodes sequence no matter whether you hold Shift or Ctrl or Shift+Ctrl or no modifier at all. Useless...

What's the name of your emulator? Hm... Maybe there are settings where you can modify what key smurfs it produces? Maybe it allows you to set it to xterm?

(You could of course bind the word-jumping functions also to other keys, say ^B and ^N. Add to your nanorc: bind ^B prevword main, and bind ^N nextword main, and it should be much easier to jump from word to word.)

No, it doesn't. Though, <ctrl+space> works, but <M(alt)+space> does not. If I go to the first line (the header) and hit <alt+space> repeatedly I get something like:

I compiled a debug version in my home folder, using:

The output is in the attached file (TRAIL). It doesn't work with all shortcuts, like <ctrl+left/right> is to switch between desktops/spaces (and <cmd+left/right> is switching between my (3) open Terminal windows).

Since 4 and 6 acts like left/right I made another test with those keys instead, if that helps. Attachment: TRAIL_46

Yes, of course… Here it is:

Thanks for reporting.

It... would be nicer, though, if you just pasted the two warnings into this text field. If it are the two in browser.c, about shifts being too large, they are known -- they were fixed in SVN but were overlooked when backporting things to the stable branch. Will be fixed in the next release. And yes: nothing to worry about. :)

Oh, out of curiosity: do Ctrl+Left and Ctrl+Right work for you in nano? (Jumping from word to word?) If not, could you compile nano with --enable-debug, run 'src/nano 2>TRAIL README' and type:

<Left> <Right> <Shift+Left> <Shift+Right> <Ctrl+Left> <Ctrl+Right> <Shift+Ctrl+Left> <Shift+Ctrl+Right>

and then attach the TRAIL file? I ask because you're running on a Mac and I have no idea how its terminal emulator behaves.

Wed 02 Dec 2015 01:47:40 PM UTC, original submission:

Just compiled `nano-2.4.3` and got 2 warnings during make. Warnings, but I thought I should report them. :)

```
cd /path/to/nano-2.4.3/build
../configure --enable-utf8
make -j5
sudo make install
```

See attachment.

Anything to worry about?
