It looks like the REGISTER_KP_V macro called register_kf_v() for some reason, which can only mean that the register_kp_v pointer is set wrong in the obtw struct.

OP here, now with an account.

It looks like this happens in make_flagstash().
It looks like make_flagstash() will always segfault as I can see no way that stash->val is ever going to be initialized.

This would seem to imply that make_flagstash is never called in testing which also sounds like a test coverage issue.

The only thing I can think of that would be different is the bash environment but I'm not entirely sure what is changed in the testing environment. Especially not anything that would cause a segfault.
