This is probably a duplicate of #46216.

All that I can see that seems relevant is that the 3 file names that are used are the longest file names all the missing file names are shorter.

I don't know if this is important or not but that is the only thing that I can see that is different.

I have confirmed your results -- glob seems to be the problem.
I paused the copyfile.m at the glob command and copied the files
manually from the temp folder. Now interval works.

So glob needs fixed

I have tracked it down to a wrong return value from the glob function during installation. Please, could a core developer figure out why this happens?

It seems the “pkg install” is broken on the dev branch. The oct-files of the package are all compiled in the src dir, but only three of them are copied over to the inst dir and are then missing in the installed package directory.

According to pkg install -verbose everything should have worked, but it did not. I still have to figure out why.

This should not have happened. I am going to reproduce and debug.

oops
no it did not help.
I uninstalled interval, then exited octave, to be sure that
all traces of interval were gone.
below is the fresh try.

Doug, you should reinstall the interval package, not the symbolic package.

Doug, did it help to reinstall the package? I believe that the bug can be closed.

Sat 17 Oct 2015 07:16:26 AM UTC, comment #1:

When you use a different version of Octave, you have to reinstall the package, because the oct-files are compiled for your particular Octave version during “pkg install”.

Please reinstall the package and the error should go away.
