As discussed in earlier comments, this problem was fixed after version 1.05.000. There were a few development builds made available but no other 1.05.x official release.

Version 1.06.002, available as
http://files.gnubg.org/media/windows/gnubg-1_06_002-20180802-setup.exe
has this fix as well.

Hi Michael,
That was quick!
I installed the link you sent me and it seems to have corrected the problem.  The Default save folder is now GNUBG.  I changed that to my “Saved Games” folder off my root for all three locations without GNU crashing.
One thing though.  Completing a few test matches I am finding that GNU is not automatically saving my games at the completion of the match.  If I manually hit the Save button it works, but not automatically.  The only “Setting” that I could find that might correspond to that is “Record All Games” which is checked “On”.  Any thoughts on this?

One other very strange point. When I did a manual save of a match earlier this morning the file was saved in the Default GNUBG directory off of /Program Files.  When I use GNU to go and open this file it shows up in the file list of supported files, yet when I manually use Windows to browse this location (I wanted to delete it because had set my Save location to my Saved Games directory and wished to "clean up" gnu's program directory) there is no SGF file?!  I tried using Command and DOS Dir command to see if had a Hidden Attribute but nothing shows. This is very, very odd.  Is GNU now using a "database", rather than individual files, to save games?

Thanks.
Tom

Could you try the test build (1.05.001-dev20 to see if this resolves your issue. there was a bug I fixed in the past month that may be related. The URL for that download is here: http://files.gnubg.org/media/windows/gnubg-1_05_001-dev2-20150801-setup.exe

Hi, I just completed installing the new version of GNU and completed playing a match.  When I go to Settings,Options,Other and try to change SGF default file location from "None" to the "Saved Games" folder off of my root directory GNU crashes.  If I click on the down arrow for that box it shows 5 options: My Root (TMM), Desktop, the C Drive, the D Drive and "Other".  Clicking on either of those brings up the system busy circle, followed shortly by the whole screen turning pale and about 5 seconds later, and then the Windows message box saying the program stopped working.

Have any ideas?

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.

Thanks.

Tom
