gdcm-2.0.19 is really old now and looks like its been recently removed from the website.

Two options:
1) update the mxe-octave files to a mirror of the file; or
2) update mxe-octave to compile a more recent version of gdcm.

Of course it still isnt as easy as that, as the dicom package in mxe-octave is looking for gdcm-2.0 files to compile with, although the code for the dicom package in source control has been updated, the released version has not.

I have a patch attached for mxe that uses gdcm 2.4.6 and patches dicom to work with it - it compiles, however i havent tried running any dicom package tests with it.

Hello,

while cross-compiling Mxe-Octave (with quantumdepth 16bit) for Windows in Debian 8, the source for gdcm where unavailable.

I couldn't find it neither manually on the official gdcm wiki and sourceforge, and I think this version is deprecated.

I found the file ( gdcm-2.0.19.tar.gz ) manually on other mirrors and i placed it in the mxe's cache, then succesfully builded the installer. It works on Win7 x64.

What to do? Load the file on a mirror and edit the source for mxe-octave?

Thanks
