BTW have a look here:
https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?45458

Does that match your experiences with Octave?

The first plot ever made with a newly installed Octave on Windows can sometimes take forever. However, just be patient, I've found that at some moment the plot is always made fine.

Could you wait -say,- 10 minutes and report back if Octave still hangs? Just try with a simple "plot ([0 1])"

Running the Octave GUI. Have tried with GNUplot 32 and 64 bit. Have tried setting the "graphics_toolkit" to qt, gnuplot, ftlk.

>> available_graphics_toolkits

ans =
{
[1,1] = fltk
[1,2] = gnuplot
[1,3] = qt
}

>>

If set to "qt" a window comes up, which is blank, then Octave stops responding.

Tried: plot([1 2 3 4 5]) ... as well as other things.

In all cases it becomes unresponsive and must exit Octave.
