Hi bboett,

Check the permissions of your session temp directory specified in your php.ini. The webserver must be able to read and write to this directory.

Cheers

I too get this problem. Is this a newbie problem or is this something else. I read in the comments below that something was commented out.Can someone provide a clue as to what and where this is done. Cheers.

ok, trying to read the code i cmmented out the blanking of the sessions made one run and set it back.... now the setup stage seems complete....

now i have another problem that looks suspicious, so maybe if someone could could give me a hint of what goes wrong:

trying now to access the groupware normally, logging in with the newly created admin user (or any of the dummy users BTW what's the normal way for a usercreation??) i get:

Warning: open(0/sess_14445d421c6a654d9a28ed7c386bd615, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in /usr/share/phpgroupware/phpgwapi/inc/class.sessions_php4.inc.php on line 771

Warning: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (0) in Unknown on line 0

is it some apache/php problem? i left in the system the user info to be stored where the debian package pointed it to... this looks awfully like an uninitialized array entry...

hello, i installed phpgroupware from debian apt-get went to the start page, entered the admin passwd and get an empty page with the following content:

Database error: Link-ID == false, connect failed
PostgreSQL Error: 0 ()

Session halted.

now my postgres DB is running just fine (i have a phorum install running flawlessly on the same webserver....)
i created the database recquired as the user as specifyed in the README....
