Retagging release from 4.0.0-rc3 to 4.0.0.

Oops, I didn't check the bug tracker before I posted this report :(. But I checked the shortcuts before and noticed Strg+Alt+0 being configured as a shortcut but didn't know that this is equivalent to AltGr+0.

This bug report can be closed because this "bug" is already fixed. I guess the reason why I still had the old shortcut is that newer Octave versions reuse the previous/old configuration file -- what of course is the desired behavior.

This sounds identical to a bug that was reported previously and supposedly fixed, bug #44627. Can you review the discussion on that report and check your keyboard shortcuts and see if any configuration changes make the bracket appear?

Ccing Torsten who diagnosed and fixed the previous bug.

I have the same here:

Windows 7 64bit
Octave 4.0.0-rc3
Typing a closing curly bracket "}" in the GUI Editor is not possible.

Opening a file containing the bracket "}" is OK.
The command line is OK, too.

Do you mean a matching closing bracket? I.e., you typed "{" and some point later typed "}". Or do you mean just the "}" character on its own?

It may sound strange but I can't type a closing curly bracket in the editor (i.e. a } bracket). All other closing brackets aren't affected. The command line isn't affected, too (all closing brackets work here). Can someone else reproduce this behavior? I'm using a German keyboard but Octave in English (switching to the German language didn't show any change).
