Closed as I could not reproduce this with the Gnome panel at the top of the screen any more. What we still need to add is a correct visible screen, which take such panels and bars into account. That is, we need another call to the backend here.

Could you please retest this problem. It should be fixed by Alexanders window frame changes.

This /does/ happen with back-art (I recompiled to check).

However: this only happens with a gnome-panel at the top of the screen, which moves windows to not appear under nor over it. Menus that appear in other locations on the screen are not affected. Menus that have been affected show the problem even after moved to elsewhere on the screen.

I'm using:

gnustep-gui-0.8.7-1
gnustep-make-1.7.1-1
gnustep-back-art-0.8.7-1
gnustep-base-1.7.1-1
gnustep-extensions-0.8.6-2
gnustep-examples-0.9.7-1
gnustep-ruby-0.2.1-1
gnustep-back-0.8.7-1

from the PLD distribution, fairly normal compile of all parts, though I'm not sure back-art is active.

In all apps, the menus highlight and select entries one lower than the position of the mouse cursor -- making selecting entries difficult, and very difficult for the top entry.
