I'm trying to compile on an EFI system. I found out that adding `--with-platform=efi` fixes my issue and that it makes sense to build for `i386-pc` by default because it is used for x86_64 legacy boot as well. Maybe the default of building for legacy on an EFI system can be changed to EFI and/or explained better in `./configure --help`.

Do you have BIOS or EFI system?

It is counter-intuitive that issueing

./autogen.sh
./configure
make

compiles for i386 on a x86_64 machine (Ubuntu 14.10 amd64) rather than x86_64.

It'd be helpful to explain the difference between platform and target in `./configure --help`.
