Hi Vic,

The old "\" continuation marker was removed with cset http://sourceforge.net/p/octave/financial/ci/98186f2f2834e755c4af840e3d319878463a81a6/ and I can't find remaining ones in http://sourceforge.net/p/octave/financial/ci/default/tree/inst/datesplit.m

so I think this is already fixed in the repository but there wasn't a release yet.

I'll close this bugreport as fixed but feel free to reply to this is you still think it's a bug in the financial package.

The function datasplit.m in the package financial-0.4.0 repeatedly uses the continuation marker \ outside of double quoted strings. This use is depreciated and will be rejected in a future version of Octave.
