I'm not sure if this fixes your problem, but the contrib/ directory in Wget ships the tsocked-wget script which allows Wget to connect to a SOCKS5 proxy.

Hello!

Could you be so kind and develop %subj% to let users point wget to use Tor SOCKS5 directly, pointing to the SOCKS5 proxy as it's available for http_proxy.

Currently the feature is available thru PSOCKS shell (freebsd) and so on awkward way only.

Thank you in advance.
