Thanks for your bug report, I can confirm this is still a problem with gnuplot and the current development version of Octave.

Gnuplot has a weird behavior with Octave 3.8.1: when printing an image into a file, the linewidth and markersize are a lot smaller than what can be seen from the plot window.

By default, printed curves are almost invisible when using the standard parameters. But when trying to set a bigger linewidth and markersize, it correctly print thicker curves, but the plot curves are even thicker to the point that they are unintelligible.

I attack screenshots with default parameters and with linewidth = 10 and markersize = 10.
