Thanks for your bug report. You're talking about variables defined in the Octave libraries, C/C++ symbols, not variables in the Octave interpreter / workspace, correct?

Hi,

Octave has several global variables and functions with generic names.
For example, error_state.
This may be an issue (duplicate/conflicting symbols), if shared object using this variables is loaded into another application.

Feature request:
- Add some meaningful prefix to all global variables.
For example: octave_error_state instead of error_state
octave_last_error_message instead of error_message

Regards,
Dmitry
