What were you doing before the crash at startup occured? Did you upgrade from a rather old version just before the crash?
When resetting to factory settings solved the problem I am wondering what causes the problem since these factory setting are also used at the very first start of octave. Can you reproduce the issue?

Hi,

the Command Window crashes at the start completely. The hole Command Window Area was filled by rectangle types, they also jittered around a little bit. I was able to solve it with a decrease of the window size. After a resetting to factory settings of the window configuration, the command window problem was also solved in fullsize mode.
