If your dice were not rolled yet, the warning has to be that you should have doubled instead of rolling.

Probably you were playing a match to some number of points and gnubg needed only one more to win while you were trailing.

Are you familiar with the peculiarities of match play when one of the players is one point from winning ?

If not, the 1st and 3d sections of the following article :
http://www.bkgm.com/articles/mpd.html
give some basic information on these cases where the trailing player should double immediately.

In a game today, somehow it started giving me the tutor warning about making a dubious move - BEFORE my dice were even rolled. Once it started doing it, it did it for the rest of the game. I don't know how to reproduce it.
