in function io_copy (POSIX and non-posix variants) no error handling is implemented in case the target file cannot be copied.

Similar for FILE_TOOLS.delete and FILE_TOOLS.rename.

What about adding a query last_operation_succeeded: BOOLEAN?

Thanks to Hans for finding this by compiling on windows. (Compiler warning by PellesC) But the warning-free posix variant is also not clean, because retrying with "one byte more" in case of errors is definitely not the way to handle "-1" return values ;-)
