I think that "ls(1)" and the like are likely to be understood as references to other man pages, and not an instruction to go looking for documentation on the "ls" command in general.

The title should be changed like this to be more clear without context:

"Links in man pages shown by "info" point to other man pages, even if an '*.info' file is available for the linked command"

To reproduce:

Run
$ info cut

Navigate to "ls invocation" (for example using "uumls")

Confirm it shows "File: coreutils.info, Node: ls invocation"

Run
$ info column

Confirm it shows "File: manpages, Node: column"

Navigate to "SEE ALSO" at the end.

Follow the link to "ls".

Confirm it shows "File: manpages, Node: ls(1)"

At this point, it should show
"File: coreutils.info, Node: ls invocation".

We have opened related info pages 'cut' and 'column',
then navigated the info pages, to reach the same page, 'ls'.

For that reason, we can expect to end up on the same page.

A possible solution is to map links to man pages into links to info pages if available.
