Sorry the bug was already fixed on mxe-octave 3.8.1 or later.

When using MXE Octave 3.8.0 and the GNUPlot graphics toolkit, printing the output to a file does not work. THe Octave installation is missing the Postscript prologue files. Copying the prologue files from Octave 3.6.4 to the Octave 3.8.0 share folder and setting the GNUPLOT_PS_DIR to the folder solves the problem.
